Do owls work well for rodent control?
We may have less gophers, but then I see more ground squirrels, and the rabbits and hares are still running around. As the trees are getting larger there seems to be less damage due to rabbits. Their burrows do not completely uproot a tree, they do not chew all around the bark of the trunk as much - this was killing trees as most of the sap flows near the bark. Anyway it's still quite a sight to see the owls flying low at dusk.
